I’m feeling disheartened by the growing expressions of hatred toward vulnerable populations that I am reading about and witnessing this week—in our country and in my local community. We are living in a growing time of darkness, loss, and uncertainty. I attended a lecture by Francis Weller, author of The Wild Edge of Sorrow, last week, and he referred to these times as a descent into the long dark.
These times of uncertainty call on us to navigate our grief and tend to our souls with fierce courage and tender care. Our need for creating awareness, resilience, and community is becoming more imperative. I’m so grateful for you all in our community of kind-hearted souls.
